Enfolding
Dans, Installation, research
In collaboration with Mara Hulspas and Bryndis Brynjolfsdottir.
Enfolding is an immersive installation in which the subtle movements of a performer are transmitted to the audience through a membrane — the inflated plastic sphere in which the audience is situated. The dancer is positioned 2.5 meters directly above the visitor. As the dancer within the membrane is in contact with the same material as the visitor, their movements are physically felt by the observer. This experience creates a magical effect: the observer sees the dancer in an abstract way, yet feels their presence at the same time, despite the physical distance.
